Its the first simple radio I have ever owned that simply quit working for no reason. No. Would I buy this again.
This radio works very well while it actually worked. Until it stopped working, I used it 5-7 hours a day. I bought this radio for its retro good looks.
Not happy at all that it simply quit working. Junk. The unit can pull in even some of the weakest radio stations and the speaker can fill a room.
However, after 6 months of use, it just stopped working.
Too bad about the adapter. This radio is for a countertop in the kitchen and having a major piece of hardware like an AC adapter trailing behind it sort of ruins the look. But.nice radio. Very nice radio no doubt. [.]. With Tivoli (and others) the AC power unit is contained within the radio itself and there is just a simple power cord that plugs into the wall and the radio. Had to take it back due to extremely large AC adapter. Wasn't expecting a massive power transformer that sits outside the radio.
You could do a lot worse. I paid @70 before taxes and I'm not disappointed. big sound for the size, I consider it my poor man's Bose. There is not much I can add which wasn't written. This radio called to me when I saw it, and yes, I was aware of the large power adapter. The sound is warm, and wood is such a relief from plastic casings.
This radio sounds as good and the FM Reception is great making weak stations sound as powerful as strong ones. I recently purchased this radio for $69.00 at Target. The only complaint is that you cannot run this on regular batteries. Room filling sound in a great package at a great price. The sound is wonderful, just as good as the Bose Wave Radio I sent back a few years ago after being dissapointed in its sound quality for the price. Bose should be ashamed.
Absolutely love it. This review is coming from a person who owns mostly NAD Electronics stereos. I liked this radio so much I bought two for my house and am thinking about buying two more. I was in search for a table top radio with an Ipod aux. My only wish is that they would have a few more colors like the Tivoli Audio stock. The Crosley, surprising to me, had the best sound without question. input and tested all of them available at Target. The bass and treble are very natural and smooth.
